MISSION STATEMENT
Since 1965, Anderson County Community Aid Coalition (ACCAC) has stood as a trusted place where dignity, compassion, and community come together to support our neighbor’s facing hardship. Our mission is to provide immediate, meaningful assistance to individuals and families who are struggling with food insecurity, lack of clothing, household necessities, and other basic needs – while fostering a supportive environment built on respect, privacy, and hope.
ACCAC believes that no one should face their challenges alone. We exist to bridge gaps for those who often fall through the cracks – residents who may not qualify for federal or state programs, seniors on fixed incomes, families facing sudden crisis, single parents doing their best and individuals working hard to rebuild stability. Through our food pantry, clothing closet, household goods program, nutritional support, Green Thumb gardening initiative, firewood assistance, and community outreach and resource efforts. We aim to meet both immediate needs and long-term well-being.
Our work is empowered entirely by the generosity of our community. As a donation-driven nonprofit with no federal, state, or county funding, ACCAC stands as a true example of “resident caring for residents.” Every can of food, every donated pair of shoes, every volunteer hour, and every dollar given ensures we can continue showing up for the families who trust us each week.
Our mission is simple: to serve Anderson County with compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment – ensuring every neighbor feels seen, supported, and valued.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to build a stronger, healthier and more connected Anderson County – one where every family has access to nutritious food, appropriate clothing, essential household items, and opportunities for growth, self-sufficiency, and stability.
We envision a community where dignity is preserved, where neighbors support one another without judgment, and where compassion fuels action. ACCAC strives to be more than a service organization – we aim to be a dependable foundation during life’s difficult season, a place where people feel welcomed, encouraged, and empowered.
We imagine expanding our programs to meet emerging needs, strengthening collaborations with local partners, and creating new initiatives that promote wellness, education, and long-term resilience. Whether through gardening and cooking education, emergency assistance, or connection to additional community resources, ACCAC seeks to support the whole person as well as the whole family.
Our vision is for Anderson County to be a place where no one goes hungry, no home lacks warmth, no child goes without clothing, and no residents feels alone in their struggle. With the continued support of volunteers and donors. partner organization, and community advocates, we look forward to building a brighter, more hopeful future- one where compassion becomes a community standard, and every neighbor has what they need to thrive.
